Values: What is most important to you in life? What is your purpose? Who are you, really? What do you value?
Veritas; to seek it, to live it, to show it -- to rightly divide the word of truth and communicate it to others in love through aplogetics and polemics both
Beliefs: What do you believe in? Do you believe in God(s)? Karma? Saints? Why or why not?
I believe in my own depravity, miraculously redeemed; my own mortality, fallibility, and dependence on the One who holds all things together for every breath I breath, every beat of my heart, and the holding together of every thought of my mind. As an unassuming theologian once declared: 'I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen; not only because I see it but because by it I see everything else.'
Do you consider yourself spiritual? Do you identify yourself with a religion? Why or why not?
I believe that the most counter-intuitive gospel ever preached is in fact the true gospel.
The stone that the builders rejected has become the very cornerstone. As it was in 32 A.D., so it remains today. Jesus the Christ, the annointed One of God, is a rock planted firmly in our life's path, either for us to embrace or reject. But there is no "easy" way to embrace Christ, just as there is no such thing as "Cheap Grace". Each of us must stumble our way into the Kingdom of God - None of us can arrive on our own two feet and under our own power and inspiration. To those who have stubbed their toe on that stone (as I have) and found themselves kneeling before Him, as the cornerstone of our very existence, there is a special and unique fellowship to be shared. It runs much deeper than merely a name ("Christian"). It is a relationship; and a relationship, as an experiential kind of thing, must be experienced to be truly appreciated.
Do you believe in after-life, heaven, reincarnation, a parallel universe, fate or destiny?
Life is a story, written by an author. We are privileged to be players in that story; both in this life and the life after.
Why are we here on this earth? What is the meaning of life? What are your lifelong aspirations?
Some are on this earth to bring glory to the Creator as recipients of His mercy; others are on this earth to bring glory to the Creator as recipients of His justice. And yet we are each here for the same purpose, and that purpose cannot be thwarted.
Background / Spiritual Path
"We show a love for the world in our lives, by worshipping goods we posess.
Jesus said "lay all our treasures aside, and love God above all the rest!"
'Cause when we say 'no' to the things of the world,
we open our hearts to the love of the Lord,
and it's hard to imagine the freedom we find,
from the things we leave behind."
My father met Jesus in college, and he introduced me to Him as a small boy as I marveled at a land called Narnia. St. Mark's Gospel inspired the lyrics above and describes the path of my life:
Peter began to say to him, "We have given up everything and followed you."
Jesus said, "Amen, I say to you, there is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for my sake and for the sake of the gospel who will not receive a hundred times more now in this present age: houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and eternal life in the age to come."
