Values: What is most important to you in life? What is your purpose? Who are you, really? What do you value?
I value honesty and truth, open communication, dependability, and kindness. My goal in life is to make the world just a little bit better- whether it is by teaching students or by bringing joy to my friends, family, or even strangers! I try always in my life to think about what "doing the right thing" means, and to do that to the best of my ability.
Beliefs: What do you believe in? Do you believe in God(s)? Karma? Saints? Why or why not?
Albert Einstein said it best: The fairest thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion which stands at the cradle of true art and true science.... Enough for me the mystery of the eternity of life, and the inkling of the marvelous structure of reality, together with the single-hearted endeavor to comprehend a portion, be it never so tiny, of the reason that manifests itself in nature.
Do you consider yourself spiritual? Do you identify yourself with a religion? Why or why not?
I consider myself to be a very spiritual person. I am Jewish and I practice Judaism to the extent that its values, beliefs, and traditions bring joy and meaning to my life.
Do you believe in after-life, heaven, reincarnation, a parallel universe, fate or destiny?
Don't we all wish we knew? Some of us do, but I am not one of them I suppose. I secretly (well, not so secretly anymore) wish I could live forever in this beautiful world of ours. I do believe (in a tongue-and-cheek sort of way) in the "universal scorekeeper." It's funny but if you keep this in the back of your head, you will see this "force" at work.
Why are we here on this earth? What is the meaning of life? What are your lifelong aspirations?
Nobody really knows why we are here or what it all "means." I think it's amazing that we, as humans, can even ask that question!
